how the other half lives is a new label run by london-based portuguese dj and producer zntn. the label launches with on rushmore by the deadstock 33s and stopmakingme. the deadstock 33s - uk club legend justin robertson of lionrock and revtone fame, former hacienda resident and prolific producer over the years - combines forces with stopmakingme - the fabric/kill em all resident and bugged out! regular with recent productions on bang gang, codek and moshi moshi - for on rushmore and as you are. this marks their third collaboratory release, after an ep on tigersushi and single on gomma.

lando is known for teaming up with low limit as lazer sword, a future hip-hop from group from the bay area. his solo tracks are freaked out juggernauts of electronic music, primarily experimenting with various mutations of house. dense instrumentation, analog synth and drum machine work, complex melodies, and creeping basslines are pooled from his musical obsessions with 90s rnb, classic house, freestyle, garage, detroit techno, early synthesizer music, timbaland, and… to be honest, everything in between.
>maneuver< is a sure shot banger, a futuristic synth piece with heavy garage leanings and even a hint of robin s classic >show me love<. on the flip we find >run it<, a more introvert electro fused b-boy classic from future times.

edit king leo zero returns with something very special to kick off a new run of no frills dancefloor bombs that have been tried and tested over the summer on a packed worldwide dj schedule from stockholm to tokyo and beyond. first up is an intensive slice and dice exercise on probably the best track from definitely the best band in the world: the clash. leo takes their most disco friendly outing >the maginificent dance< famously spun by mr levan at the garage - and with the more dubby rare levan version he homes in on looped 1 bar sections, skating along to create a new arrangement - added to the brew are bootleg recordings form the clashes infamous live show at nycs bonds ballroom, and even some baseline demos digitally siphoned from people practicing guitar along to the clash on youtube!….. we are left with is an epic labour of love edit that has already found its way into the a-listers record boxes - from derrick carter to laurent garnier who are all spinning this solid as a rock dub disco bomb. on the flip we have a classy house re-work of al hudson & partners >music< which sticks a chi-town kick and snare up its rear end along with some serious sub bass, and in the middle things get all wobbly with some trademark leo zero space echo rides and before we are quickly warped back-in and onto the floor… big with a load of top jocks too including severino of horse meat disco fame.

after a short production break, the russian techno duo easy changes (denis cast & kilrill silas) are back with a 12 inch on the berlin/london based label, mean records, run by cesare marchese (cesare vs disorder) & federico benedetti (onirik). the lion is also a good drummer fits in nicely with the labels love of minimal techno productions that feature original sounds, moody melodies and deep aural landscapes. easy changes gained recognition in 2007 with two back to back hit releases on foundsound records. in 2009, they were the first ep from nervmusic, a moscow based label that focuses on unconventional techno started by cast, silas and friends. seated comfortably between the avant-garde and the dancefloor, the release has something for everyone. the title track, the lion is also a good drummer is an epic, crawling minimal techno production filled with stripped down percussion and abstract found sounds perfect for after-hours. on the flipside is the uptempo, quirky and tribal burlesque, replete with spliced vocal samples, snares, cymbals, bleeps and claps. for the burlesque remix, french producer doubtingthomas shows off his lifelong obsession with percussion and its rhythmic allure with the addition of a trippy drum solo midway through the track.

as the instruments of rapture series draws to a close, the penultimate release comes courtesy of one of our favourite producers, tornado wallace. >rainbow road< sees captain wallace take us on a star-bound, jazz-funk journey where time stands still and emotions run high. with the equally positive >dont hold back< and a revenge remix on the flip, this is a fitting build-up for the final instalment on the label.

killekills next release comes from snuff crew, a crew you might and should have heard about. snuff crews mission is to bring back the fun on the dancefloors worldwide. the masked duo is known for their jacking live shows that combine the raw energy of early chicago and acid house with a fresh and modern sound. rumour has it that they come from >somewhere in germany<, but their sounds draw a very heavy influence from the original acid house city of chicago alongside italo-disco and old school techno flavours. the use of old school roland boxes as sound sources and almost non existent use of even basic effects means their sound is rough, raw and aimed squarely at the dancefloor. their records have been released on labels like skylax, gigolo records, rush hour, playhouse and many more, but the two guys also run their own imprint called snuff trax where they release music of jackmates like kink and neville watson as well as their own tracks and collaborations with artists such as legendary robert owens. thats enough for now with the name dropping. killekill has got a lot of great exclusive material from the guys but decided to release only two very strong and distinctive tracks for now: domo on the one side is a proper acid monster that will go down on dancefloors worldwide like a hurricane and leave the dancers breathless. eat this on the other side is a rudimentary chicago jack track that might well have been taken off a dance mania record from 1992. this track is working its way with nothing but a few drum tracks and a vocal sample and is pure raw sexual energy.

split 10 inch featuring iori asanos bloom on the deeplab select series side (run by detroits luke hess). deep techno with a hard driving rhythm. the flip is from sascha dive on revival select series (an balance alliance spinoff) and is a deep peaktime house cut called la santa danza.

germany based producer kassem mosse releases his second ep for nonplus, entitled >enoha<. the four track release follows on from last years >we speak to those/hi res< 12 inch for the label, which is run by uk duo instra:mental. this year mosse – real name gunnar wendel – has already released two solo eps, including the workshop 12 and a limited 7 inch for mikrodisco which included the brilliant dj koze-esque mindfuck house track >7am<.

name in lights is a stockholm based trio made up of long time friends emir krkic, filip johnsson & david irigoyen. the name in lights sound is easily recognized, with influences from disco, acid & chicago house as well as kraut, punk & rock music. together with erik wikström, name in lights run scando-disco label feed, where they also released their first ep eld och lågor. for uts name in lights deliver two massive discotized house tracks, touch the sky (e track) & disco touchdown. the ep also features remixes from dr dunks & eddie mars which ties it all up into a must have 12 inch

conforce goes deeper into delsin terrain... a very cool four tracker! preceding the release of his next full length album, dutchman conforce has selected four tracks to release as the dystopian elements ep. but dont let the title fool you because, as is often the case with boris bunnik, there is a warm analogue/digital harmony to his sounds which is more than worthy of its place on delsin

mr raoul k and baobab secret take the next step and put out new remixes of >le karantkatrieme peul<. prisme are a belgian duo (nicolas pepinster and yves theys) who started to produce their own material in 2010. they liked the title track so much that they remixed it and sent the result to mr raoul k who instantly fell in love with the melodic and laid back approach they took on it. this lush piece makes a perfect entry into a long night out, promising that every piece will fall into place. the other production crew featured on this release are the iklawa brothers (mzwandile nxasana and sandile magwaza) who run their own label in durban, south africa. they are big fans of mr raoul ks work and have been dropping his tunes in their sets on a regular basis. their remix is a dark, afrobeat driven tune that takes the listener on a long trip into a gloomy world full of surprising musical twists, dramatic changes of mood and impressing string sounds. the last remix is done by mr raoul k himself. he shows a new side of his musical skills. resulting in an epic track that seems to dance on tiptoes around a giant beast. one small step. hesitate. check carefully what happens. do not disturb. just watch in astonishment how it slowly awakes and stretches out to its full glory. a track that is full of hope, but reminds us to keep our feet to the ground to provide a solid stand.

clement meyer now joins correspondant, and with a nod to his parisian roots he enters our label with techno to be reckoned with. just listen to the first half of >sweet insanity<, and you will begin to appreciate his dark style as much as we do. abe duque, who we have invited to remix >sweet insanity< has been at the head of the acid-house and underground-techno table since his earliest releases way back in 1993. from muscular and melodic techno to cocktail jazz and ambient interludes, his early tracks on his own labels tension and hollis haus included releases under pseudonyms like kirilan and super secret symphony, plus his releases on others labels like disko b, rapture!, morbid, and tresor captured a particular period of clubbing history. the second part of duque s career was a run of increasingly massive 12 inch hits like champagne days, cocaine nights, acid, disco nights, and in 2004 his monster smash with blake baxter >what happened?<. his signature is now stamped across productions from top acts like chemical brothers, pet shop boys, and miss kitten, and has become a regular on dj hells gigolo label. the highlight of this period, though, was his first album >so underground it hurts<. it was undeniably a techno event, and that is exactly what he comes with today, a mind bending techno remix of >sweet insanity<. we hope you like it!
